Catalytic converter overheating

Stop driving

What it means

The catalytic converter or exhaust is overheating, often due to engine misfires. It can cause a fire.

What to do

Reduce load and speed and stop safely, then switch off the engine. Do not park on dry grass, and have it checked before driving again.

This is general guidance. Symbols differ between manufacturers, so check your owner's manual, and have a red warning light looked at before you drive on.
