Coolant overheating
Stop driving
What it means
The engine coolant is too hot, usually from low coolant, a fan or a pump fault.
What to do
Stop safely and switch off the engine. Do not open the cap while hot; let it cool, check the level and call for assistance rather than driving on.
This is general guidance. Symbols differ between manufacturers, so check your owner's manual, and have a red warning light looked at before you drive on.
