EV battery fault

Stop driving

What it means

The high-voltage battery of the electric car has a serious fault or is overheating.

What to do

Stop safely, switch off the car and leave it. If you see smoke, smell burning or hear hissing, move away and call the emergency services.

This is general guidance. Symbols differ between manufacturers, so check your owner's manual, and have a red warning light looked at before you drive on.
